I wrote "There Goes" in April 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. I began playing livestreams, and at the end of each performance, I would close with "We'll Meet Again" which was made famous by Vera Lynn. At that time, the global death toll was at 200,000. When I performed this song at a live stream in October 2020, the US death toll alone reached 200,000. When I recorded this song in March 2021, it surpassed 500,000. Those who perished never got to see better days to come. I dedicate this song to them, to everyone in isolation, to the essential workers, and anyone who lost their jobs this past year.
